The best museum in the world!

The best museum ever?  Well, our party of 7 spanning 3 generations certainly thought so.  We spent the whole day there and even Nana who shuddered when we suggested this museum had a fantastic day.

And we celebrated Mia's birthday there as well.  Mia thought it was the best birthday ever being in such a play space.  Little did she know how much she was actually learning about our world.

The marvel is in Lucerne, Switzerland and is called the Swiss Museum of Transport.

This prosaically named place seems more of an interactive play centre full of life size and real experiences of trains, boats, cars and planes.  Plus spacecraft, hang gliders, paragliders, etc.  Oh yes, and gondolas, ski tows and whatever else I've missed. We'll let a few pictures tell the story.

The crash simulator was, well, crashing good fun. Even if only 13Kmph it was still a bit scary and at such a low speed there was quite a wack on the body.

There were train simulators which the young children and in particular one big child - that would be George the Grandfather - enjoyed.  The simulator allowed you to drive a Swiss train and it felt real.  Even driving it through snow.

Jenny and Joel also had a great time in the flight simulator.  This is the first time David has seen Jenny go upside down in any form of 'ride' and from the peals of laughter emanating from the sealed unit she was obvioulsy enjoying it.

If there is a better museum for multiple age ranges we don't know of it.  Let us know of it if you do so we can put it for planning another trip.
