Swiss trains...like clockwork

On our way to Switzerland, we told the children about how the Swiss are noted for their precision, their watches and trains.

We were on on the final leg of our journey to Wengen from Zurich, using 5 trains.  Dave suggested to Ellie that she check the departure time on the clock at the station (every station seems to have many visible clocks) and see how closely we left to the scheduled departure time.  So, the train was scheduled to depart at 19.02. The kids began the countdown from one minute. 50 seconds, 40 seconds, 30 seconds, 20, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 "choo choo" says Ellie and CLUNK goes the train and away we go in a fit of laughter.  Timing is everything. Gotta love the precision, the watches (clocks) and those trains.


The next day one train was marginally dealyed by a minute due to another train further up the single line. The conductor was stressed and not happy.  He wanted to be underway!
